Ethical Theories
I. Introduction
Every ethical theory assumes something with human nature. Human nature can decide for themselves what is right from wrong, can decipher a noble way of dealing with people and can determine an element of choice.
However, every theory of ethics will fall into the perception can man be really good.

1) How can an ethical theory help man become an good moral being?

1. Ethical theory help man become a good moral being in a way that ethical theory helps us to clarify what is right or wrong to do in a particular situations.

Yes, in the Bible, one of the 10 commandments of God is to love your neighbor, in relation to ethical theory, loving our neighbors is the right thing to do, when we love each other God lives in us. And because when we love our neighbors there will be no conflicts and we will have peace.
3. Trusting God. Sometimes, there are instances in our lives that we forgot what is the right thing to do when we faced difficulties, but I believe that whatever it is that I am going through, God will always be by my side and whatever happens the only right thing to do is to believe and trust Him.
1) Through ethical theories we can clearly understand whats right from wrong and consider it to make ethical decisions. It's helpful, because people make decisions everyday that also make impact not only to themselves but also to other people.
ReplyDelete2) Ethical theory tells us also the truth, and teaches us to help someone in need. In the same manner, biblical truth teaches us to resist what's unjust and abide to what's good and acceptable. God has given us ability to dicide and ethical theories and bible guides and polishes our decisions.
3) To always make decisions based on what I love to do, as long as no one would get hurt of my own actions and other would also benefit from it. Like how utilitarianism explained, decision should be for the betterment of majority.

ReplyDeleteEthical theory strengthen the good moral of a man in terms of, it provides good morals that a man obligated to do, a clarification of what is right and wrong to do in a particular situations.

For me yes. Since ethical theory help us to clarify our ethics, or what is right and wrong. How much more the bible that teaches us all the good things that we ought to do. So for me it means that, our ethics is strengthen more, because of the word of God we know, and because I believe that the Bible is our best source and basis of good morals that we should have as a person.
3) What is your ethical theory that is connected with your Christian faith?
Doing what is good. For me always doing and choosing what is good, is one of the greatest decision that I need to do. And because I believe that, even no one noticed it, there is a God Who see me, in every thing I do. And I know that doing what is good wholeheartedly with right intention is pleasing to other, and much more to God.

ReplyDelete1.It states that practicing good habits such as honesty, generosity makes a moral and virtuous person. It guides a person without specific rules for resolving the ethical complexity.
ReplyDelete2.Yes, because christians acknowledge not only a duty to announce the gospel, profess the faith, and worship God but also to live their entire lives according to God’s will. Being God’s people means following God’s law, which means walking in the way of truth and obeying it.
3.My ethical theories focuses on building moral character, and a deontological ethic which assesses choices.
1. Ethical theory has a great contribution in making us good moral beings. It serves as our guide to take action appropriate to a situation and make better decisions. It reminds us of the ethical obligation we need to fulfill in our daily living. I believe, it is not difficult to decide in the middle of a difficult situation if you know what you stand for or your values. If we notice, ethical theory becomes our driving force for us to not just consider our welfare when making decisions. But we should always think of what is good and beneficial for the majority.
ReplyDelete2. From my standpoint, ethical theory and Bible truth are relatively related. When we do something wrong, we need to be prepared for the consequences we could get. They intensify the importance of having high morale to make good decisions in a certain situation. They become our guide to living in this world accordingly and they help us cultivate ourselves to become better individuals.
3. Maybe on how we should treat others with respect and dignity. We are all created in the image of God so I can say that we are all loved and special in His eyes. We need to treat everyone we come in contact with nicely and with due respect. As the Lord loves us despite our shortcomings and sins, we should also demonstrate them to others. I believe it will help us have a safer and better world.

Yes, because bible and the ethical theory believe is once a person give up on a trials person think the way in (HEBREW 13:5 and MATTHEW 22:37-39) love our neighbours as we love ourself and i do believe that everything can happen wrong and right but we should never stock, we should look a forward on what God believes to us.
3. In contractarianism is to figure out what ethical rules to follow, just like how we obey God then i believe that once we follow on his rules he do a miracle in our life. The best right to do is be a center of a good example to those person who are not motivated, and i do believe that everything can happen wrong and right but srill we need help for him.
1. Ethical theories seek specifically to promote the human good as a whole. ethical theory also provide guidance for behaviour, enabling people to know what qualifies as the moral choice.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, because ethical theories seek or showing a truth and good for all people, then the Bible too is showing what is good for all Human in this world like; respect all human, love each other, help each other, have unity with each other and so on.
3. For me, one of my ethical theory that is connected with my Christian life is loving my fellow man, help others in need, and obey what is good for us, and that is all I think my ethical theory.
1. Ethical theory practices the good and wrong, it helps a person to determine what is right and what suitable decision to make in a certain aspect of time, so then by these ethical theories a person may be able to know what to do and choose the right thing.
ReplyDelete2.God is Love, love has something to do with good heart when you love something or someone you are giving value to it, so everything that you are going to do will have to be decide by your heart like how will you help someone else, or how is your decision affect others, like how God determined every plan he made.
3. Being someone who is God centered, what is all about it, by being God centered I am thinking every decision I made will it affect others or me, the majority of my decision is a big impact or factor to many. And how do I look others do I pay attention in respect and acknowledgement wherein this world is denying to many.

Ethical theory helps us to understand what is our ethical obligations. It gives us clear understanding of what is the right thing to do and also able to know the wrong ones that we mustn't do that makes a man a good moral being. By doing the right thing because he already knows what is right to do.

Yes. Ethical theories refers to the biblical truth through some studies and interpretation. Both gives us clear definition of what is right and wrong.
3) What is your ethical theory that is connected with your Christian faith?
In my Christian faith to live is having the same Character of Jesus Christ doing what is pleasing to God. Living in righteousness is my ethical theory because this also taught in the Bible.
