A Glimpse on Legal Foundations of Guidance and Counseling
I. Introduction
Ever since the implementation of RA 9258 - The Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004. The need to hire RGC has been a vital requirement in any academic institutions. However, the lack of RGS and other factors have created a situation that seems hard to resolve.
RGC's as part of the academic institution must be supported in order to provide guidance services that will be on time and relevant.

2. What are the challenges of RGC's or the set up of guidance and counseling in your school?
- I think the guidance and counseling in our is one of the things that our student affairs prioritizing and I think it was great but it just that most of the time the issue cannot be confidential for the reason that it was shared to other students in order for them to learn though the reason is a good think i don't think it is appropriate to open it out to other students especially if the students is in that school also, it will be uncomfortable for him/her.
3. How can the academic community resolved the problems of the profession of guidance and counseling?
- As it was discussed earlier schools require teachers to be guidance teachers rather than be called guidance counselors. Many schools just include guidance counselling programs with the academic programs that schools have.

2. According to Republic Act 9258 or Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004 section 27, it is written there that no one that has no license of the profession should practice guidance and couseling and therefore must be punished by the law. The problem is, there are some schools that appointed counselor that has no RGC license, it is therefore illegal and has to be punished.
3.The school must follow the bill strictly and must hire counselor that is qualified.

2. On my past experience in my highschool days the challenge I remember when it comes to guidance in counseling is lack of practices and they have no proper way of approaching a student. Also lack of confidentiality because all of the teacher hears everything thats why the students scare when they hear "guidance office". Sometimes the students felt stress and not truly guided in assign counselors because of this factors.
3. I think the academic community can resolve the problem of the profession of guidance in counseling if they do also support, sometimes this profession lack in motivation, lack of resources like establishment. If they unite in one purpose they can possibly resolve it, creating a request for fund in order to have a establishment for the practices.
They also make theirselves aware on how to approach students and guide students direction, i think this thing is not needed a certificate its is just like a first aid movement on them, to fulfill the lack of number of counselors within the school community.

2. Students can seek one on one help from their school counselor to discuss personal issues such as bullying, or seek crisis counseling, says Pringle. School counselors are there to help students with academic and career development as well as social and emotional issues.
For base on my experience in my school in high school the guidance and councilor have a good connection to their students or students who are struggling, counselors can help connect them with resources or sit down with the student's teacher to identify problem areas. Beyond individual student needs, the school counseling department can also serve as a valuable resource for families.
3. I think School counselors offer individual counseling to help students resolve personal or interpersonal problems. They may also offer small group counseling to help students enhance listening and social skills, learn to empathize with others, and find social support through healthy peer relationships. For students who are otherwise unable to access mental health services, school counselors provide support at no cost.

2. What are the challenges of RGC's or the set up of guidance and counseling in your school?
I think the guidance and counseling is helpful in the shaping of a student's behavior as well as the operation of sufficient discipline. Students who are well guided and counseled know what to do and how to do it in the best possible way, which helps them achieve their goals.
3. How can the academic community resolved the problems of the profession of guidance and counseling?
Counselors will help you feel better with frustration and other stressful moods, manage tension, speak to your parents, and stand up for yourself if you're being bullied. Counselors may also help you with issues you might be having with an instructor, such as communication issues.

2. What are the challenges of RGC's or the set up of guidance and counseling in your school?
- In my previous school, the main challenges that our Guidance Counselor experiencing is the environment or the main office that she have, I remember when my friends need to go in guidance because she need to give some important papers to our counselor because also of the favor of our adviser and she invite me to join with her and when we are near in the guidance counselor office i smell the comfort room which have a disgusting urine smell and it became more stronger the moment we are near in the office of the guidance counselor. I felt worry about the health of our counselor because her office was near in the students comfort room and she was already old i don't know if it is good for her that her office is near at the comfort room. and now maybe the reason why her office is near in the comfort room because she cant have a good conversation with her client if they are near in the classroom because it is open in noise so this situation show that the counselor really don't have a good resources for their career because they don't have fund to make their place comfortable. and another one is the counseling in our school right now because the issues of every students who try to open with him was not became private because sometimes he used the issues of the student who open with him as examples in his lesson even though he didn't mention the name of the students we already found out who is that person because sometimes we see them that they are guilty, and i remember that one of my friend share to me that she was scared to share her problem to our counselor because she don't want to make other people knows it. even though i just only think that maybe he used that issues to make us be aware but i think it is not good reason that's why i really don't want to share my problem too even though i need comfort.
3. How can the academic community resolved the problems of the profession of guidance and counseling?
- i think it is good to make them have a meeting and provide the alternative needs of the counselor like in issue of office and maybe it is important also to make the counselor be aware and make the issue secured and be protected. and i think every school must have a license counselor to make the trust of the students not be broken.

2. What are the challenges of RGC's or the set up of guidance and counseling in your school?
• Challenges that facing the guidance and counseling in our school is really hard to work on it. Because not everyone wants to share their situation and I still remember the counseling issue about our school is to share that story (but not mentioning the name of the person) to talk about that issue and how to resolve it. But for me, it is not good because the person on that issue might get embarrassed about his\herself because they are literally heard what people comment about that situation.
